Check Tang Jun's tax record

Dear sir,

On the scandal of Tang Jun, the former president of Microsoft China, allegedly fabricating his diploma, enough has been said about the crisis of integrity and credibility. His actions were certainly a blow to public trust in celebrities, but perhaps there is another issue that is worth more media scrutiny.

Dubbed "the king of employees," Tang reportedly signed a contract with Xin Huadu, his latest employer, in 2008 that granted him a gross annual salary of 1 billion yuan ($147.6 million).

Given his crooked educational background, shouldn't we take another look at his tax payment history? Tang is a US citizen, which means he is also required to pay tax to the IRS even though he resides in China. Two years of a record-breaking salary should naturally have incurred high amount of tax.

Fabricating his diploma publicly disgraced him, yet tax evasion, if proved to be the case, is a crime that is subject to severe penalties. The public deserves an answer on this.
